Programs and Cost
The 2012 Southwest Speech and Debate Institute is offering programs in Lincoln Douglas Debate, Public Forum Debate, Congressional Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, and the Interp events (Humorous, Dramatic, and Duo).
SWSDI 2012 will last for two weeks, from July 14-29.
Students may attend for multiple events as long as they are not overlapping- i.e., students who attend in PFD may also attend Interp, Extemp, or Congress.
The dates of each program are:
Lincoln Douglas Debate: July 14 to July 29
Public Forum Debate: July 14 to July 22
Interp: July 22 to July 29
Congressional Debate: July 22 to July 29
Extemporaneous Speaking: July 22 to July 29
Cost
Tuition for SWSDI is among the most affordable of any camp in the country. Since we are a non-profit organization, 100% of your tuition goes towards covering the costs of the program. Tuition for the 2012 camp is:
Lincoln Douglas Debate: $990 residential, $770 commuter
Congressional Debate: $670 residential, $560 commuter
Public Forum Debate: $670 residential, $560 commuter
Interp: $670 residential, $560 commuter
Extemp: $670 residential, $560 commuter
Public Forum and Congress: $990 residential, $770 commuter
Public Forum and Interp: $990 residential, $770 commuter
Public Forum and Extemp: $990 residential, $770 commuter
- This covers the entire cost of the programs, including three meals a day. We will not surprise you with any additional fees.
- Students who are unable to attend the entire camp are welcome to attend for a portion of the time for reduced tuition.
- We are committed to making camp affordable for all. Please do not let the cost deter you from applying- if cost is a burden, please contact us about possible discounts and financial aid. In previous years we have been able to provide enough assistance for nearly every student who wanted to attend.
