You like to debate? So do we. Come join us for a couple of weeks in the Arizona Desert for the first annual SWDI

Home

Thank you to everyone who helped make SWDI 2010 a success! As the year goes on, we will update the website with information about next year’s camp.

The Southwest Debate Institute is held on the campus of Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University. This brand-new, high-tech, state-of-the-art facility will bring together coaches with a broad range of skill and experience, guest speakers with unique perspectives and ideas, and students from around the country for a couple of weeks of awesome instruction, high-energy debate, and quality preparation for the upcoming season.

The thing that sets SWDI apart is that we’re a not-for-profit camp. We aren’t interested in making a living from this. We do this because we love teaching, and we love debate. The camp staff is a collection of dedicated and committed coaches with loads of experience. We all have a real passion for debate, and we’re excited about bringing this camp to Arizona and beyond.

We will be offering 2 week programs in both Policy Debate and Lincoln Douglas Debate, and 1 week programs in Public Forum Debate and Student Congress. (Students may participate in both the PFD and Congress sessions, if they wish.)

LD and Policy sessions will be held from July 19th to July 31st, 2010.

The PFD 1-week session will be held from July 19th-25th, 2010. The Congress 1-week session will be held from July 25th – July 31st, 2010.

Drop us a line at info@southwestdebateinstitute.org to find out more, and keep an eye out here as we update with more information. We look forward to seeing you at camp.
